Four Dead In Ohio

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War-era massacre at Kent State University in Ohio. You can read about it here:

I remember it well, not because I was following the course of the war or the protests, but because it caused the campus of my university (CWRU) to be shut down, too.

Back then, the country was so polarized that one half was angry enough to shoot the other half. We were that way during the Civil War, and we seem to be going down that road again.

Nations thrive when there is unity. There is no unity here. We ought to reflect on that fact today and think about what we can do to change it.
