The media also bears responsibility. Asking experts to opine on unsubstantiated claims is not useful. Medicine and science are not matters of majority opinion; they are matters of fact supported by transparent data. This is the backbone of scientific progress and our only hope to end this pandemic. We can’t give up on our standards now.

It should be obvious that a few people plan to make a LOT of money from this pandemic. It also should be obvious they don't care HOW they make it.
One has to ask whether the MSM's apparent hatred of hydroxycholoroquine therapy has more to do with money to be made than it does with lives to be saved. Here is an extensive review of one aspect of that issue:

And speaking of the MSM, here is a review of how much money their top executives make. Do they get such wealth for telling us the truth, or from telling us things which enable them to receive this loot?

In regard to the twin issues of trust and money, here is a timeline of how Dr. Fauci has reacted to the pandemic:

I have no idea how much his response was motivated by money, but I'm quite certain it was one of the chief factors for the rest of the main players. Too bad they were more concerned about THEIR money and potential gain than with the wealth (or lack thereof) of We the People.
Ask yourself this - Why are we allegedly trying to restore the economy we had before COVID-19? It was a disaster for everyone except the rich.
And why are we going to let the rich decide how the US economy should be modified in the wake of the pandemic? Any changes they recommend or make are certain to further enrich THEM with little regard for the impact on US. The shutdown was THEIR idea, and now we're unlikely to ever get our jobs back:

Here are some of my recommendations for our economic recovery:
- Buy American
- Stop replacing human workers with robots/AI
- Halt ALL immigration until EVERY citizen who wants one has a job
- Stop bailing out banks and corporations which screwed the public to enrich their execs
I'm sure you can think of useful ideas of your own. Vote for people who support them, and hold their feet to the fire once they're elected. DO NOT ALLOW them to sink into the swamp and continue business as usual.
STOP the plague of money before it kills any more of us.
Like I said, it seems to be all about the money:
