Some Patterns Emerge

The following patterns are slowly emerging from the 2020 electoral fog:

  • US militarism will continue. We've still got lots of enemies to crush.
  • US fascism (the union of state and corporate power) will grow ever stronger as the rich gobble up all remaining public and private property.
  • Belief in science will be restored, and we'll put the deniers in jail if we have to.
  • Our democratic ideals will be preserved, although no longer put into practice. The President will rule by executive order, and the Congress will continue to rubber stamp voluminous bills without debate, amendment, or the ability to read and understand them before voting. Any congressional troublemakers will be expelled.
  • The global war on terror will expand its powers inside the US by labeling former Trump supporters as domestic extremists and terrorists. After all, we knew all along they were just a "basket of deplorables", right?

And I have some nagging questions:

  • Is the state of emergency declared in the wake of the 9/11 attacks still in effect?
  • How much more debt can we take on before the whole house of cards collapses?

Oh well, back to the man cave to catch a few more z's.

Update - 1/18/2021

Here is a good explanation why the rush to impeach Trump and to vilify his "coup plotters" is as bad or worse than what we did following the 9/11 attacks:

Here is a great explanation why the "stimulus" spending makes little fiscal sense:

And here is a development which reveals where this all is headed - the nation's capital is occupied by armed troops with orders to shoot to kill:

Note well - President Trump did not bring armed troops into DC; the Biden-Pelosi crowd did.

The US government now believes that a substantial portion of its own citizens are "the enemy". I wonder what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would say about that?
