I think the military industrial complex revolving door is akin to bribery. What do you think?
If we stopped treating everyone in the world as an enemy or potential enemy we would not need such expensive weapons anyway.
By the way, if we had spent the money wasted on this unneeded weapons platform on preparing our nation for a pandemic, THAT would have been a meaningful defense expenditure. Weapons don't make us "safe" when our government refuses to control what comes across our borders.
