President Trump has signed an order related to moon mining and asteroid stripping:

Doesn't it seem odd this would be a priority during the pandemic?
And isn't it bizarre that the US would claim the "right of discovery" to the entire universe?
I believe the universe is not only a global commons, it is a universal commons belonging to ALL the beings who inhabit it. When we eventually encounter other intelligent life, I'm certain they will point this out to us ... possibly in a quite violent fashion.
