As you may have heard, some people believe smokers are partially immune to COVID-19 and that this alleged immunity is caused by nicotine:

That apparently is their fantasy. Here are two of mine:
1. The powers that be scared us into stopping smoking because they KNEW it would make us more susceptible to the virus.
2. They also got us off opioids because they KNEW it would make us more susceptible to the virus.
Once again, these are just two of my fantasies. But I think it's worth pursuing whether they have any validity, because you can be sure the powers that be didn't do either of these things because they give a damn about our welfare.
