The era of peak globalisation is over. An economic system that relied on worldwide production and long supply chains is morphing into one that will be less interconnected. A way of life driven by unceasing mobility is shuddering to a stop. Our lives are going to be more physically constrained and more virtual than they were. A more fragmented world is coming into being that in some ways may be more resilient.

Do you buy that? I'm not sure I do.
I haven't heard of any massive startup of US based production, have you? Is any planned?
Yes we're being constrained, and allegedly that is a good thing for "the environment". But is it a good thing for us?
The world is fragmented in large part because the USA has manipulated most international organizations for its own benefit. Now China appears to be doing the same thing. Will the shift from us to them really make things better?
I think the changes which will most affect us can be seen by looking at the Bills of Rights. Here is an example of what I mean:
First Amendment
- Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; - churches are closed because of COVID-19
- or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; - social media and MSM are censored because of COVID-19
- or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, - assembly is restricted or forbidden because of COVID-19
- and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. - can you think of ANY petition which has or will make a difference?
And take a look at the rest of our soon-to-be defunct Constitution. According to official sources, it is "outdated", "obsolete", and/or in need of a complete overhaul.
This is a turning point alright, but what lies around the bend is a dystopia in which most of us will serve no useful purpose. What then?
Here is further discussion of the issue, from an alleged war criminal:

Kissinger was at the forefront of the bastards who got us into this mess in the first place. We'd be fools to allow him to guide us on the way out.
