Please review and compare these statistics:
(1) There are 428,000 children in US foster care:

(3) The US immigration system has separated 3,700 children from their parents:

Why are we fixated on #3, while more or less ignoring #1 and #2? Are we really concerned about these kids, or just using them for political purposes?
