The Importance Of The Middle Class

What country currently resembles the US of the 1950s with roughly 8% GDP growth? You probably guessed right, China. Aside from the fact that China has been handed every manufacturing job in the world from others, the result has been a growing middle class which will soon become larger than the population of the US. According to a study by consulting firm McKinsey & Company, 76 percent of China’s urban population will be considered middle class by 2022. That’s defined as urban households that earn US$9,000 – US$34,000 a year. (That might not sound like a lot, but adjusted for prices, it delivers a roughly comparable “middle class” existence to other countries.) In 2000, just 4 percent of the urban population was considered middle class.

Too Cheap To Meter Redux

The Indian space agency ISRO has set for itself an ambitious target to reach the south side of the moon in search of nuclear energy. The ISRO's chief told the news agency Bloomberg that it will launch a rover in October this year to explore virgin territory on the lunar surface and analyze crust samples for signs of water and helium-3. The moon mission will be called Chandrayaan II, next in the series of Chandrayaan I, which was a success. 

The helium isotope, if explored in abundance on the south side of the moon, could then theoretically meet global energy demands for 250 years if harnessed, the Bloomberg report reads.

They've reportedly managed to grow tiny brains, about the size of a pea, in petri dishes inside labs.

They say the next step is to link these cavemen brains to robots using neural implants to try and create a kind of Neanderthal cyborg.

This, in turn, will allow them to find out what caused Neanderthals to go extinct - leaving homo sapiens to colonise the Earth.

Animals Avoid Us, With Good Reason

On Thursday, ecologists at the University of California, Berkeley, released a study published in Science Magazine that indicates animals are adjusting their habits to avoid the stresses of human encroachment on their habitat.

According to the research from Kaitlyn M. Gaynor, Cheryl E. Hojnowski, Neil H. Carter, and Justin S. Brashares, human population growth is having a profound influence on the way animals go about their business - specifically, when they choose to go about their business.

It seems that a number of mammalian species have become nocturnal in an effort to avoid us.

Scientists admit that this probably works for the animals, but could have potential "ecosystem-level consequences" we don't yet fully understand.

The main consequence of crowding out non-human species is that they will die, leaving us truly alone on this planet, and perhaps in the universe, too.

1. Trump's nominee most likely will go through a standard confirmation process, will be sworn in constitutionally, and no doubt will serve with distinction.
2. The "resistance" to Trump's nominee, however, threatens massive civil disobedience, direct attacks on Trump's staff, and perhaps even civil war.

Which is the greater threat to democracy? And why is the MSM supporting that greater threat? Their main reasons seem to be these:

• Let us escape our "traditional" marriages;
• Let us continue having same-sex marriages;
• Keep allowing people to enter the country and stay illegally; and

I would wager that she truly represents her constituents, and that they are mainly people who are NOT rich and entitled (in the sense the 0.01% think they are entitled). We Could Have Had Peace With NK 40 Years Ago

U.S. President Jimmy Carter in the late 1970s was ultimately stopped by congressional obstruction, the Pentagon, and the intelligence community, among others, from implementing a troop withdrawal policy he had repeatedly promised during his presidential campaign in 1976. Put otherwise, and to use 21st century Trumpian parlance: the so-called “deep state” stopped Carter from executing his plans.

Solving Fermi's Paradox

Q: Access to all that information should have given NSA the ability to thwart ANY attack on the US. So why did 9/11 occur?

Disrupting 9/11 Truth

In 2008, Harvard professors Cass Sunstein and Adrian Vermeule proposed that the government should engage in "cognitive infiltration" of citizen groups that seek the truth about 9/11. The proposal was that government operatives, whether anonymous or otherwise, should infiltrate and disrupt the groups. They wrote, "Government agents (and their allies) might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action."

The following year, this anti-Constitutional stance was rewarded when Sunstein was made director of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. Members of the 9/11 Truth Movement responded with detailed criticism.

Of course, the idea of infiltrating a grassroots action group, to disrupt and defame its members, was not new. The FBI program called COINTELPRO was a widely reported example after it was revealed in the early 1970s to have infiltrated citizen groups seeking civil rights and peace. After being revealed, COINTELPRO techniques continued at the FBI and elsewhere in government.

Cynthia, The Flesh Eating Bacteria

Here is something I didn't expect:

... in the nearest future, the planet could face yet another “monster” that was bred deep inside US corporate laboratories. We are talking about the first synthetic bacteria – Cynthia, created “to combat oil pollution in the Gulf of Mexico” which, according to the various reports that are often ignored by the corporate media, has mutated and has started attacking animals and humans. Now this highly lethal microorganism is on its way to Europe.

One could recall that back in April 2010 an explosion at a British Petroleum oil rig resulted in millions of barrels of oil contaminating the Gulf of Mexico. Despite the drastic measures taken to prevent an environmental catastrophe, an oil slick produced by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill covered over sixty thousand square miles.

As one of the means of addressing the environmental catastrophe on their hands, Washington decided to take drastic measures, regardless of the possible consequences of those actions. It was at that time when an artificially created microorganism nicknamed Cynthia was unleashed, without any kind of examination of the possible threat it may pose to the environment.

Cynthia is the brainchild of the J. Craig Venter Institute — which was engaged in genetic engineering experiments since the beginning of the 21st century — and Synthetic Genomics Inc, and was created and funded directly by BP. It was believed that Cynthia feeds on oil, but it turns out now that it is equally willing to consume all forms of organic life as well…

In 2011, Cynthia was unleashed in the Gulf of Mexico and in its initial stages of life it was absorbing oil slicks at breathtaking speed. In January, 2011 the Register reported that scientists were particularly impressed by the speed with which the bacteria was eating up its “meal”.

But then this bacteria mutated and soon was feeding on organic lifeforms. Strange reports started coming from the US, like five thousand birds falling victims of an “unknown disease” in Arkansas, or more that a hundred thousand dead fish found off the coast of north Louisiana. It was also reported that a total of 128 British Petroleum employees that participated in the liquidation of the oil slick were struck by some mysterious illness. According to various sources they were forbidden to seek relief in public hospitals, to prevent them from talking to anyone about what has happened to them…

Soon it was recorded that the disease and the symptoms that are now associated with the coastal zone of the Gulf of Mexico began spreading to the continental United States – for example, people who were caught by heavy rains that came from the Gulf of Mexico were also exposed to it.

In fact, such disturbing reports have become pretty common, in spite of the restrictive measures taken by the US government to prevent this information from spreading. In particular, it’s been reported that certain individuals who were unfortunate enough to take take a swim in the Gulf of Mexico often found themselves covered with itching sores only to die in agony a few days later due to extensive internal bleeding.

According to media reports, a person can become Cynthia’s victim under two circumstances: if it penetrated the skin barrier through a wound or if they were unfortunate enough to eat raw seafood infected by this bacteria. Once the bacteria is in the system, it penetrates into the layer between the skin and muscles and starts producing a toxin that disrupts tissues. It is known that Cynthia is capable of reproducing itself rapidly within the infected cells, and that it is immune to antibiotics.

According to the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), up to 40% of the residents of the territories adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico have become infected with severe respiratory and skin diseases, and one in four residents is planning to pack up and leave in the nearest future.

Still, Washington has been pretty determined to mute these reports by announcing that the growing death toll can be attributed to some “unknown virus.”

Given Elon Musk’s dubious track record for hitting his goals, it may be a roll of the dice whether the Tesla CEO delivers a profit later this year. Fittingly, his success will depend partly on money from Nevada casinos.

Since 2015, Tesla has boosted its bottom line by selling tax credits to casinos such as the MGM Grand.

The casinos use the credits, purchased at a discount, to lower the gambling taxes they pay the state. Tesla uses the proceeds to ease its losses or increase its profit. Musk told investors on June 5 that “it’s looking like” the company will be profitable later this year.

So far, Tesla has sold $131 million in credits to casinos and has booked a total of $163 million in anticipation of more sales soon.

The inexorable global growth of robots and AI is continuing to destroy jobs for humans. The reality is that in a few decades (perhaps earlier) there will be no way for the populations of the EU and the US to support themselves, so why don't we just allow their numbers to naturally decline?

Any sane assessment must admit that for this planet to survive the number of humans MUST decline. So why aren't we addressing THAT problem, which clearly is the 800 pound gorilla in the room?

Or do the rich have some secret program to address this which they're not willing to talk about?

Regime Change In Iran

US Navy planning to build military camps to jail 120,000 immigrants

A draft memo leaked to Time magazine Friday reveals preparations by the United States Navy to build sprawling internment camps to house over 120,000 undocumented immigrants. Massive camps housing nearly 50,000 each are being proposed in Northern and Southern California, close to the country’s largest immigration populations, with an initial 25,000 to be housed on military bases in Alabama.

The capacity of the new facilities would match the total number of Japanese and Japanese-Americans detained during World War Two. This follows a separate Department of Defense announcement Thursday that the military will erect detention camps on four Army bases in Texas and Arkansas that will hold another 20,000 migrant children.

The establishment of military prison camps on American soil marks an ominous milestone in US history. These are being erected to detain not only immigrants, but also striking workers, protesters against police violence, and all who resist conditions of deepening exploitation, war and dictatorship. This police state policy is aimed at the entire working class.

Ali Is On The Grill

The Future King Is Coming

When I first saw this report in the Jerusalem Post, I thought it was about the Jewish messiah:

Then I noticed that Israeli newspapers seem to say very little about the coming of their messiah. In fact, that term (messiah) appears to be associated mainly with the beliefs and expectations of Christians.

So, if (as some say) Israel is to be a nation for Jews, what about the Jewish messiah? Does that concept still mean anything to them, or has it been tossed out along with the other parts of the Bible/Torah they don't like (e.g., the observation of jubilee)?

Contamination At US Military Bases

In March [2018] the Pentagon reported to Congress that George Air Force Base one was of hundreds of military locations that had water sources testing higher than the Environmental Protection Agency’s recommended 70 parts per trillion maximum levels of perfluorooctane sulfonate or perfluorooctanoic acid, also known as PFOS and PFOAs.

At George, among the 22 monitoring wells DoD sunk to test water sources, 14 came back with PFOA or PFOA readings that ranged between 87 and 5,396 parts per trillion above the 70 ppt limit.

The man-made chemicals are found in everyday household items, but they are concentrated in the foam the military uses to put out aircraft fires. They have been linked to cancers, infertility and birth defects. 

George is one of several Air Force bases with concerned current and former communities now coming forward about base contaminants. Last week, the Florida Department of Health said it is collecting cancer reports from current and former residents who lived on or near Patrick Air Force Base. The Michigan Department of Health is holding regular meetings with residents who lived around the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base to address contaminated private water sources. DoD tested 67 wells there, one came back reading almost 3000 ppt over the recommended exposure.

I would like to point out that the law being quoted here applied to those we now call Israelis, and they without question are NOT obeying it. Should you disagree with my claim, just ask the Palestinians.

I guess my point is this - if you believe what's in the Bible, you must believe ALL of it, especially if you are a Jew or a Christian. You can't just ignore the parts you don't like, as many of us (including the Israelis) seem to be doing.

Don't we have a similar phenomenon in the US?

• The deep state (not Congress) directs the activities of our military-industrial-information complex;
• The Democrats appear to be running a shadow government which is "looking to scale up with an eye toward eventually returning to power nation-wide"; and
• States such as California refuse to adhere to federal immigration laws, and seek to negotiate their own treaties (e.g., on climate change).

The existence of such "parallel state" entities suggests an imminent breakup of the US. Who knows, maybe that would be a good thing.

On the other hand, it's likely to be at least as bad as anything the Taliban would do. Were we to be honest with ourselves, we'd admit that the #MeToo and student-led anti-gun movements are the US equivalent of the Taliban. And they are likely to have the same negative impact.

Are We Experiencing Mass Psychosis ???

Cops Reject Restrictions On Their Right To Kill Us

Law enforcement organizations are unlikely to compromise with advocates of a proposal this session to restrict the circumstances under which police officers could use deadly force.

Their staunch opposition significantly diminishes the prospects for Assembly Bill 931, which would increase the state standard for lethal use of force from "reasonable" to "necessary," to become law. Though the measure on Tuesday passed its first policy committee, it faces a lengthy and complicated path ahead in a Legislature historically hesitant to cross law enforcement.

At the Senate Public Safety Committee hearing, representatives for rank-and-file police and their management said their objections to the proposed change on use of force could not be resolved by an offer to provide funding to retrain officers.

As I write this article, the vast majority of those that abuse drugs are men, the vast majority of those that commit violent crimes are men, and the vast majority of those that we put into prison are men. I began researching this article by looking into the fact that the labor participation rate for men has been declining for decades, but our problems run much deeper than that. Today, so many men feel lost. Millions of them don’t have a sense of direction, millions of them don’t have anything that really drives or motivates them, and millions of them are deeply depressed and greatly dissatisfied with life.
