Wouldn't it make sense just to burn the natural gas itself in ICEs? That was a common practice where I used to live in TX until hybrid cars became widely available.
Beware: Seldom do "new" technologies receive a full and impartial analysis of their impact. And when the true impact eventually is discovered, it's often impossible to go back to the way things were.
"New" may or may not be better, but it's usually more expensive. Don't let the brain-dead Biden administration and Pelosi-Schumer congress wreck our energy and transportation infrastructure. If they do, you'll sorely regret it.
