Republican Cocaine Bad, Democrat Cocaine Good ???

Here is one of the more recent (and trivial) tit-for-tat political spats:

(1) Joe Biden's son gets discharged from the Navy after testing positive for cocaine:

(2) And a short time later, Mitch McConnell's father-in-law gets busted for cocaine found on one of his ships:

I would guess that while Hunter Biden apparently did use cocaine, Mitch's father-in-law did not necessarily have anything to do with drug smuggling aboard one of his ships.

Of course as a consolation for the loss of his Navy commission, Hunter got that sweet gig with a Ukrainian gas board:

... while poor Mitch may be leaving the Senate next year. We'll have to wait and see.

If the nation is going to sling some drug trafficking mud, I think it's time we refocus our attention on what went on in Mena, Arkansas while Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham (a.k.a. Clinton to some of you) were running the state. Is it true that the Arkansas Development Finance Authority was used to launder a zillion dollars in drug money and that the Rose Law firm was involved, as Larry Nichols alleged?

I listened to Larry on Chuck Harder's "For The People" radio program many times. What he said was consistent and made perfect sense at the time. Nothing ever came of it, either because it was a BS story, or because it was accurate and like Gary Webb's "Dark Alliance" series had to be contained so as to not embarrass the government and/or lead to criminal charges for high-ranking members of our political class.

If we want to fix our government, we must start by rooting out everyone involved in any aspect of the drug trade. If we are neither willing nor capable of doing that, we'll never get anywhere. Our political system is rotten to the core, and as George Carlin said "garbage in, garbage out".
