I can't really believe this is because people want healthier food. Perhaps they do, but better food costs more. How do people with no jobs afford it?
It's more likely that McDonald's and Walmart are now failing because Americans can no longer afford their products, and that is a function of the non-existent "recovery" we keep hearing about. If I had recovered, I'd be eating breakfast at Mickey D's all the time.
