I keep hearing that Israel has a right to exist. Why then doesn't ISIS/ISIL have a similar right?
Both claim a religious motivation.
Both use violence to achieve their goals.
Both displace existing peoples and governments.
Both are relative pariahs to the rest of the international community.
The one difference I can see is that ISIS/ISIL gives people an opportunity to assimilate, while Israel pushes all non-Jews into the sea or the desert.
Note well that I am not in favor of either group. I find both of them equally disgusting.
Update: This essay discusses some of the strange laws found in the Old Testament of the Bible:

If we were to compare the scripturally-sanctioned practices of Judaism and Islam, we would have to admit they are equally bizarre. It is therefore profoundly hypocritical for Christians in America to blindly support everything that Israel does while blindly condemning everything ISIS/ISIL does. Both groups are fubar ... unless you believe they are motivated by the word of G-d, and that puts us in another horrible quandary.
