The Islamic State v. The Drug Cartels

Here is a report which calls the Islamic State "the Taliban with oil fields":

“The Islamic State is probably the wealthiest terrorist group we’ve ever known,” said Matthew Levitt, a former U.S. Treasury terrorism and financial intelligence official who now is director of the counterterrorism and intelligence program at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. “They’re not as integrated with the international financial system, and therefore not as vulnerable” to sanctions, anti-money laundering laws, and banking regulations.

I beg to differ with Mr. Levitt.

The drug cartels which are pouring poison into the veins of our nation are a far more dangerous terrorist group, are extremely wealthy, are extremely violent, and are not only right on our doorstep but also are selling heroin in nearly every school in our country.

They have cut off more heads and tortured and killed more people than has ISIS.

They are fully integrated with the international financial system, but in spite of that fact sanctions, laws, and regulations haven't made much of a dent in their operations.

So, tell me again why we're apparently helping the cartels by giving them assault rifles and opening our southern border ... and for some reason are more intent on destroying ISIS than in going after drug kingpins?

Is it because when ISIS eventually gets into Afghanistan they too will shut down opium production like the Taliban did, cutting off the money supply of CIA and a large part of the US ruling class?
