Newspeak is the fictional language in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, written by George Orwell. It is a controlled language created by the totalitarian state Oceania as a tool to limit freedom of thought, and concepts that pose a threat to the regime such as freedom, self-expression, individuality, and peace.

Here is a modern day example:
Oxford University is encouraging students to use the gender-neutral pronoun 'ze' instead of 'she and 'he'.
The students' union wrote in a leaflet that the move was intended to reduce the risk of transgender students being offended.
Students hope that the use of ‘ze’ will continue into university lectures and seminars, reported The Sunday Times.
According to Oxford University's behaviour code, using the wrong pronoun to define a transgender person is an offence.

The modern university is a place where one learns how to conform, not how to think for oneself.
By the way, is transgenderism really a way to express freedom, or is it a means to destabilize the status quo?
Is freedom in general a means to destabilize the status quo?
If it is, what's the goal? Please don't say "to empower the individual" or I'll throw up.
