Here are some very clear indications the US has gone completely nuts:
1. Biden wants us to pay to shut down power plants in Africa:
2. Like Germany, we continue to accept immigrants when apparently they cannot find gainful employment:
3. And the formerly great state of California continues to pursue fiscally unsound policies in spite of their already huge litany of political and managerial failures:

I don't know (or necessarily care) WHY all these things are happening, but I do know this - we collectively are on a path leading to the US becoming a failed state, or as Donald Trump put it "a shithole country".
Intentionally or not, our country is being destroyed. Does anyone even care?
