Capitalism As A Weapon

In this report, Senator Rubio complains that China has too much leverage over US corporations:

Gee, Senator, you're a bit late bringing this up. Congress and US corporations are the chief culprits behind this pickle we're now in. Corporations wanted it, and Congress enabled it.

About 12 years ago, I attended a talk given by former ADM Bobby Inman during which he said the biggest threat to US national security was foreign ownership of US assets. The situation has only gotten worse since then.

In reality, all the Chinese have been doing is imitating and taking advantage of us. Read John Perkins' book Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, and you'll see what I mean.

The US invented the use of capitalism as a weapon, at least in its latest iteration. And since phony fiat money and disaster capitalism are the only usable weapons we have left, I doubt Congress will abandon them.

Face it, Marco - You and your fellow senators messed up, and now we're all going to suffer because of it.
