You're damn right. And this is being done without your informed consent and without anyone knowing what the outcome will be. That's why they call it "the Singularity".
Humanity has produced a continual string of bad ideas that were marketed as "progress". Technologies which threaten to turn most of us into useless eaters and worthless commodities cannot in any way be considered to be "progress". They are sociocidal ... and in a real sense suicidal.
