The Great Unraveling

Here is a very timely op-ed piece in The New York Times:

And it is happening in the middle of the great falling away:

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 KJV

It is no accident that all this is occurring during the Presidency of Obama ad-Dajjal; the man of sin, the son of perdition.

Here are some questions which spring from Cohen's essay:
  • Does anyone really think that ISIS understands theater better than does Hollywood?
  • Does anyone really think that "untruth so grotesque it begets unreason" describes Putin better than it describes Obama ad-Dajjal?
  • Does anyone really think that the UK is "the most successful union in history"?
  • Does anyone really think that the US ever gave up on the idea of being the world's policeman?
  • Does anyone really think the world's reaction to Israeli genocide of the Palestinians is "anti-Semitism"?
  • Does anyone really think we ever had the intention of "connecting the dots"?

Yes, this is Great Unraveling. But no one in the United States will ever see it for what it was, and no one will ever understand what it had wrought.

We don't want to see, and we don't want to know.

We never have.

We never will.
