One of the nation's first tent cities was set up by the Bonus Army in 1932, and the next big one was for the Poor People's March in 1968.
The first was cleared out by the Army, the second following the murder of Martin Luther King, Jr. Today's tent cities won't be cleared out by anyone, because the government is using them to continue their destabilization of our society.
We have shifted from a "war on poverty" to a "war on the middle class", funded by the debasement of our currency.
Clever, or diabolical?
