Oxygen On The Moon

According to this report, an Israeli company has come up with a way to produce oxygen on the moon:

One important issue not addressed in the report is the amount of energy required by the process and where that energy will come from. Until we know that, there's no reason to believe the other claims about the process.

Update - 4/24/2012

NASA has a similar device which they are testing on Mars:

It requires 300 watts to produce 10 grams of oxygen per hour from CO2.

To scale this up will require a significant amount of energy, which most likely will come from solar cells or nuclear reactors. And keep in mind that Mars is a lot further from the Sun than is our Moon, meaning that many more solar cells will be required.
