Long ago I read several of Isaac Asimov's books (Foundation trilogy, etc.). For some reason, The Naked Sun is one that sticks with me.

We appear to be on a trajectory to becoming the sort of society the book describes:
- a sparsely populated planet where most work is done by robots
- elites living on huge estates (e.g., Larry Ellison, Mark Zuckerberg)
- practicing strict social distancing
- communicating via technology (e.g., Zoom) instead of face-to-face
I guess what bothers me the most is that wealthy techies now have the means to turn Earth (and perhaps Mars) into such a place and appear to be working toward that goal.
What do you think? Do you really believe they created mRNA vaccines to help keep our planet overpopulated and on the brink of disaster? Or do the vaccines have another purpose?
They may be evil, but they're NOT stupid.
