Here is a report about the so-called "opioid crisis":

My wife has been taking opioids for the pain caused by what I consider to be botched hip surgery.
It looks like she will have this pain for the rest of her life. What does medicine have to offer her other than opioids? NOTHING.
Unless I'm mistaken, most of the "opioid" deaths are from fentanyl. Hardly any of the people in REAL pain are taking fentanyl, so why are we punishing the patients?
Until pharma comes up with a different painkiller WHICH WORKS, get off our backs and let the patients decide whether or not they've had enough.
