The Intensity Of Copper

This graphic shows the projected role of copper in the production of "renewable" energy:

Several years ago, I participated in a failed attempt to start up an old copper smelter in El Paso, TX (the ASARCO plant). Our team discovered that not only were there very few operating smelters in the US, there also weren't any available experts who knew how to start up an old one.

My point is that much of the new copper for "renewable" energy probably will be mined, smelted, and milled outside the US. So, not only will Third World citizens be the ones who breathe, drink, and eat most of the pollution from new copper production, they'll most likely be paid in worthless US dollars backed by nothing at all ... while themselves not benefitting directly from the generation of this electricity.

Are you happy now? I doubt they will be.
