The German police has apparently worked out a plan to close the border with Austria. In the first step the 60 major border crossings and bridges should be blocked. According to the plans even water cannons will be used in an emergency.

So, Germany is closing borders but we are tearing ours down.
What they are doing is not "hateful", it is common sense. What the US is doing is idiotic and self destructive.
