Why Don't Israelis Want Peace ???

Apparently, many Israelis don't want to trade land for peace:

They could provide restitution to the Palestinians, but they don't want to do that, either.

What is the basis for their intransigence? Is it Biblical? Is it genocidal? Is it mere practicality?
