According to this report, the US Coast Guard has intercepted another sub carrying drugs:

Back in the day, I was a submarine qualified officer of the line. At least one of the subs on which I served was used by one or more members of the crew to smuggle drugs into the US. We didn't know this was happening until the police told us, and I suspect some of our subs still have the same problem today.
Illegal drugs pervade every aspect of modern life, and in my opinion they are MUCH more dangerous than the threat of so-called "terrorism". We would be well-advised to put the war on terror on a back burner and devote more resources to combating drug trafficking and human trafficking. They are the REAL threats to our nation.
By the way, the Taliban stopped poppy cultivation in Afghanistan; so we invaded, killed the Taliban, and re-established Afghanistan as the world's largest source for opium. What does THAT tell you? Did we do it to "combat terrorism" or to prop up the drug trade?
