Are Quarantines THIS Bad ???

I'm missing something here ...

Consider these examples of quarantines and quarantine-like conditions:

1. Prisons - does anyone care that prisoners might suffer such effects, or is this part of their punishment?

2. Remote military bases - do personnel stationed there suffer such effects? If they did, would we trust them with nuclear weapons?

3. Astronauts returning from moon missions - they all were put in quarantine and appeared to have done just fine.

4. Submarines - I served on two, was submerged for months at a time, and observed no such effects.

5. And our most famous quarantine station, Ellis Island - don't you remember the scene with young Vito Corleone happily singing in his room with the Statue of Liberty in the distance?

If today's quarantines have such ill effects, it's because society (as amplified by the MSM) persuades people that they're bad for you. I'd be willing to wager that if we collectively put a GOOD spin on them, everyone would be just fine.

After all, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.

Nuclear Reactors For Everyone ???

Apparently the need to go "green" may spawn a whole new generation of nuclear reactors, and they might wind up being everywhere:

As someone who worked for 25+ years in the military and civilian nuclear industries, I can attest that this would be a HORRIBLE idea.

Each and every reactor is a waste generation plant and a plutonium production facility. None of its products and byproducts are benign, and most are dangerous to the point of lethality.

Here are some things I learned during my nuclear career:

• No design is foolproof.
• No as-built plant functions the way it's supposed to.
• Safety always takes a back seat to profitability.
• Humans make STUPID decisions all the time.
• The true life-cycle costs of a nuclear facility, including storage of the waste it generates, are unknown but almost certainly exceed any value the facility may have while it's operating.

Don't buy this open-source concept. It's just another "too cheap to meter" scam.

COVID-19 Death Rate

Here is a report which claims the global COVID-19 death rate is 3.4% overall:

But since the true number of infected people is unknown and undoubtedly much higher, the death rate actually may be lower than that:

In spite of everything, people still don't want to be quarantined:

I understand the need to avoid panic and the desire to keep on living the way we always have, but somewhere along the line we need a wakeup call ... and this should be it. We cannot keep expanding our numbers and devouring the planet without the eventual need to impose controls on what people do and don't do.

The real discussion at this point ought to be about what rules we'll follow and exactly who will get to decide what they are. Right now those decisions are being made by corporations who are not accountable to anyone. Is that what you want?

What Are Our Schools Doing ???

Here is the latest travesty of US policing:

Barbara Pinkney of Bradenton, in Manatee County, Florida wanted to see the warrant from the cops who had come to her home attempting to arrest a man who she says did not live there. Because she was steadfast in her decision to see the warrant, Pinkney, a 70-year-old grandma who had never been in trouble with police before, was tasered multiple times, thrown to the ground and arrested. Now, after they “investigated themselves” the department has found that tasering the grandmother over asserting her rights was “proper.”

I don't care how many TV shows seek to persuade us cops are decent human beings. I'm not buying it. They have absolutely no respect for our rights.
