Apparently a group of Syrian rebels armed and trained by the US has surrendered to al-Qaeda:

Two of the main rebel groups receiving weapons from the United States to fight both the regime and jihadist groups in Syria have surrendered to al-Qaeda.

The US and its allies were relying on Harakat Hazm and the Syrian Revolutionary Front to become part of a ground force that would attack the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

For the last six months the Hazm movement, and the SRF through them, had been receiving heavy weapons from the US-led coalition, including GRAD rockets and TOW anti-tank missiles.

But on Saturday night Harakat Hazm surrendered military bases and weapons supplies to Jabhat al-Nusra, when the al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria stormed villages they controlled in northern Idlib province.

The development came a day after Jabhat al-Nusra dealt a final blow to the SRF, storming and capturing Deir Sinbal, home town of the group's leader Jamal Marouf.

GOP Senate = Astounding Hypocrisy In The Making

Take a look at this prediction by Mitt Romney:

Mitt Romney predicted on Sunday that a Republican Senate would break through congressional gridlock and pass legislation on immigration reform and trade.

Appearing on "Fox News Sunday," the former Massachusetts governor and 2012 Republican presidential nominee warned that President Barack Obama would move after Tuesday's midterm elections towards "amnesty" on immigration reform, a reference to the White House's decision to delay executive action on immigration until after the elections. But Romney said a Republican Congress would pass a more conservative immigration bill focused on border security that the president would sign.

“You’re going to see a provision, first of all, to secure the border," Romney said. "Second of all, to deal with those who come here illegally. And third, to make sure our immigration policies are more open and transparent … That’s going to happen. You’re going to see a bill actually reach the desk of the president if we finally have someone besides Harry Reid sitting in the Senate. So, we’re going to get it done.”

The vast hypocrisy inherent in his prediction is this:

• Yeah, they're going to "secure the border" all right, against refugees from our economic policy vis-à-vis Mexico and Central America;
• And in return, they'll fast track and pass (without debate) the secretive TPP and TTIP trade deals, both of which will completely tear down any remaining border protections we have to allow global corporations to absolutely devastate what remains of our economy.

No matter which side wins next Tuesday, We The People are going to lose ... and I mean lose big. We are screwed beyond comprehension.

Privitization = War On The Poor

Here is a report from Germany concerning how private capital buyouts of public housing units in Spain have resulted in a disaster for the poor:

Stop The War In Ukraine

Former AG Ramsey Clark has written an open letter to Obama ad-Dajjal and his minions in which he demands the following:

1. That the U.S. government and all its public, secret, official and unofficial agencies immediately cease all forms of intervention in Ukraine, including ceasing all material and political aid to fascist and right-wing organizations within the country;

2. That all sanctions and threats of sanctions against the Russian Federation be dropped — sanctions are an act of war;

3. That U.S. military forces immediately be withdrawn from the Eastern European region and that NATO’s expansion and provocative actions against Russia be ended.

One has to ask: Why did the US decide to promote regime change in Ukraine in the first place?

And can you name any of America's wars or "responsibility to protect" activities this century which have ultimately benefited either the targeted nation or the United States?

The war in Ukraine and all of America's wars benefit only bankgangsters, corporations, and their collaborators in the one percent. Isn't it time the rest of us brought an end to all this nonsense?

Why The Explosion Of Violence In The Middle East ???

Here is what Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, one of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s close advisers, had to say during a recent interview:

"The real issue is about weakening the Arab armies, whoever they are. When the Americans invaded Iraq, what was the first thing they did? They dissolved the Iraqi army.”

“Now all Arab armies are targeted – and the purpose is to change the nature of the Arab-Israeli conflict. The Arab-Israeli conflict is the crux of all that is going on in the Middle East. I am not saying these tactics will work. I am saying ‘they’ are targeting the Arab armies. The Egyptian army is very strong. It is a logical army that is defending its country. And then it received this huge attack in Sinai. It’s my opinion that the target is to eliminate the threat that Arab armies represent for the liberation of Gaza and the West Bank and Golan and to make Israel’s occupation easier and less costly. This is a major dimension of the cause of the ‘Arab Spring’. In fact I call it an ‘Israeli Spring’.”

My assessment of "the real issue" is that everything happening in the Middle East has one underlying cause: the Israeli desire to seize Jerusalem, rebuild the Temple, and create their version of the Kingdom of G-d. The weakening and/or destruction of all unfriendly armies in all countries surrounding Jerusalem (for a distance of at least two tiers out) is an absolute necessity for that to happen.

And if all this is true, what about us? The US government is paralyzed, the US economy is in the process of being destroyed, our military is becoming a very expensive bad joke, and our kids are hooked on video games and dope. Our army and even our desire to wage wage are being destroyed, too.

By the way, SCOTUS is about to rule in a case which has the potential to recognize Jerusalem as being part of Israel. It may not seem like a big deal to you, but for Israelis and Palestinians this may be one of the biggest deals of all:
